Contact Energy Annual Report 2015
2015 was a landmark year for Contact Energy. A month and a half from the print deadline it was announced that Contact was to be sold by it's majority shareholder, Origin. We had to move very quickly to change the direction of the Report to talk to an audience of new shareholders that, by and large, weren't familiar with the brand or how the company operated.
This was also Contact's first year of meeting the GRI G4 Sustainability Reporting Guidelines – a measure by which companies not only report on their financials but also a raft of other measures that indicate their overall sustainability as a company. The challenge was how to weave storytelling and personality in a report that could be dense and dry.
